WHAT
150 students from the Los Angeles District NYI gathered together for a great night of fun and service. We invaded and cominated the MB2 indoor go kart racing Friday evening which was followed by a great time of worship at the San Fernando church led by PLNU students. Zarina (from the San Fernando church then gave a wonderful message about using our gifts for service of the kingdom and for love of our neighbors.
On Saturday morning those same 150 students served at three projects. One of the places of servies was at MEND (Meeting Each Need with Dignity), an organization that provides food, clothing, and medical services for the city of San Fernando. Students also served at Cesar Chavez to support an organization acting on behalf of laborers. The third project was at Children's Hunger Fund where students packed meals for hungry people around the world.
We concluded the event with a lunch, games, and a worship service at San Fernando Church of the Nazarene. During the service PLNU led us in worship and Cesia Velasco (a student at PLNU) delivered a powerful message about following Jesus even when it's uncomfortable.
